How to setup an Encrypted Email in Office365?

To setup encrypted email, you must purchase the license for encryption (Azure Information Protection Premium P1)

Here's how:

  1. Login as Global Admin
  2. Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center



  3. Go to Billing and Select Purchase Services



  4. Look for Azure Information Protection Premium P1 and select Buy Now

  5. Go to Users and select Active Users



  6. Select the mailbox that you want to encrypt



  7. Click Edit under Product Licenses



  8. Turn On the Azure Information Protection Premium P1 and click Save Button.



  9. Go to Admin Centers then select Exchange



  10. Select Mail Flow



  11. Click the + symbol to add new mail flow rule



  12. Follow the rule exactly on the screenshot below and click Save
